Your contribution will be

  • Developing successful EU lobby tactics to support FOUR PAWS’ campaigns and strategic objectives, being responsible for their implementation and supporting colleagues in FOUR PAWS’ country offices to implement their part of the tactics
  • Being responsible for the Brussels office of FOUR PAWS including representing, financial and HR responsibilities
  • Leading a multicultural team of lobbyists located across the EU, coaching and allowing them to develop in their roles
  • Monitoring EU policy developments and informing the organisation about relevant risks and opportunities for animal welfare
  • Being FOUR PAWS’ first contact point for International and EU stakeholders and policymakers
  • Building and nurturing a network of EU stakeholders and policymakers to support FOUR PAWS’ animal welfare mission
  • Representing FOUR PAWS in stakeholders and official Commission working groups and platforms
  • Representing European Policy Officer as part of FOUR PAWS’ Senior Leadership Team and Programme Teams
  • Supervising the implementation of impactful tactics for identifying and engaging FOUR PAWS Country Offices on specific lobby campaigns with their national governments and political representatives at national, EU and international level


Your profile ideally illustrates

  • Proven experience in successfully carrying out lobby campaigns
  • Several years of relevant experience in the field of EU policies, ideally lobbying on animals, conservation or biodiversity-related issues
  • University degree in political science, law, animal-related science or similar studies
  • Experience in working in coalition with different stakeholders at national, EU and international level
  • Team management skills
  • Very good English skills, other (EU) languages are a plus
  • High social competence in a multicultural environment as well as cross-departmental team spirit and networking skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Package
  • Willingness to travel frequently
  • Great affinity to animal welfare and FOUR PAWS vision and mission
