FOUR PAWS is an international animal welfare organisation with headquarters in Vienna, Austria, and offices in 14 other countries. Founded by Heli Dungler in 1988, the organisation strives to help animals in need with sustainable campaigns and projects. FOUR PAWS focuses on animals that are directly under human influence, for example stray dogs and stray cats, farm animals, companions animals and wild animals kept in inappropriate conditions. FOUR PAWS aims to help animals in need directly and quickly.

We are looking for a positive thinker with close affinity to animal welfare to fill this position as soon as possible: 


Main duties:

  • Maintain systematic, accurate, and timely processing of all accounts payable including, but not limited to, vendor invoicing, vendor payment, pre-payment requests, W-9 information and vendor files
  • Enter all invoices and payment transactions into Twinfield accounting system
  • Obtain approval on all vendor invoices according to FOUR PAWS policy and ensure timely payment of all vendor invoices
  • Identify and investigate any issues with vendor invoices and obtains mutual resolution of discrepancies
  • Prepare biweekly payroll and books payroll journal
  • Oversee employee benefit plans including health insurance and retirement funds
  • Maintain accurate record of all W-9 information and ensure all W-9 information is in place prior to issuing payment
  • Support with annual financial audit
  • Prepare and oversee weekly payment run
  • Act as point person for managing IT inventory and schedule IT support as necessary
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial files
  • Manage stock of office supplies and place orders when necessary
  • Respond to inquiries via phone and email
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as directed  


  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year on the job experience in accounts payable required
  • High level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
  • Very good working knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to set priorities and react positively in light of shifting and competing time pressures
  •  Good written and oral communication skills, thoroughness and attention to detail with a keen focus on getting the job done correctly
  • Strong team working skills and ability to use initiative and be a problem solver
  • Willingness to potentially travel internationally once a year
