Sunny’s story: A global movement
Thank you for watching Sunny’s heart-wrenching story over 10 million times—helping it reach across the globe. While Sunny is a fictional lamb, her pain represents the real suffering of over 10 million lambs in Australia each year. These lambs are mutilated through live lamb cutting (also known as mulesing), where lambs as young as two weeks have palm-sized pieces of skin around their tails cut off without necessary pain relief. This practice is not shearing or tail docking; it is the most severe and outdated cruelty in the wool industry, leading to excruciating pain and even death, despite the availability of alternatives. Most wool in global apparel comes from Australian lambs subjected to this brutal practice, yet consumers have been kept in the dark.
Raising awareness
To expose the fashion industry's best-kept secret – mulesing – global animal protection groups have come together to call it what it is: live lamb cutting. This clear and honest communication enables better understanding. Sunny, the Australian lamb, was brought to life through stunning 3D stop-motion animation, with video characters voiced by Hollywood celebrities Danielle Macdonald, Scott Evans, and Sir Stephen Fry. This powerful narrative has opened eyes worldwide. From viral videos to street protests in Hamburg, Paris, Sydney, Vienna, and Sofia, the world is demanding change.
Our Call to Action
Together, we’re calling on fashion brands worldwide and Australia to ban live lamb cutting. Alternatives exist, and cruelty should never be the cost of fashion. The world is watching. Be the voice for lambs like Sunny. Say no to live lamb cutting.
