Rescue Dog Bobo

Bobo’s owner was struggling to care for him, but with help, Bobo is recovering and looking better than ever

20.9.2021

For many of the animals on the beautiful island of Bali, life is far from idyllic. Cats and dogs across the island roam free without a home, and for those that do have owners, many have suffered from severe financial hardship, making providing proper care and attention very difficult. Our Bali Dharma Programme, along with our partner organisation, Bali Animal Welfare Association, are helping those in need across the Indonesian island.

For dog Bobo, although he has an owner who loves him, as a result of the devastating effects of Covid-19, his owner is sadly one of the countless people on Bali who have lost their livelihoods, and thus experiencing financial hardship like never before. Bobo’s owner was struggling to care for him. Bobo was battling some severe skin problems when found, with bones almost protruding his skin, the poor dog was also extremely emaciated.

High Priority for the team

Needless to say we put Bobo high up on the priority list: this meant the team are now paying regular visits to Bobo and his owner, providing food and advice on how to best care for him. He was started on ongoing treatment for his skin problems and gradually, his fur began to grow back. Bobo also got a regular supply of nutritious food which helped improve his overall condition and allowed him to rebuild his strength.

In just a matter of weeks, the transformation was already incredible! Bobo’s fur has grown back, his eyes are brighter, his body is stronger. He still has some wounds from the skin problems he struggled with, but this boy is well on his way to a full recovery!
