The Campaigns Lead role supports the Head of Programmes by building the campaigning profile of FOUR PAWS in the UK, playing an active part in developing and leading national campaigns and the implementation of global campaigns. The Campaigns Lead will manage and deliver campaign activities, communication activities and events. 

The exciting new role will play a crucial part in supporting our campaigns across our wild animals, farm animals and companion animal departments, helping to formulate strategies and create public awareness and mobilisation activities to reach our campaign goals. This is an ideal opportunity for a career campaigner to play a key role in the fight for animal welfare. 

Your contribution will be

  • Planning, managing and delivering creative UK campaigns and implement global campaign objectives, across our key programme areas that inspire our supporters to action and persuade target stakeholders to implement changes for animals
  • Playing a key role in the global campaigns team across the wild, farm and companion animal departments. Being responsible for promoting a culture of innovative and passionate campaigning that will increase FOUR PAWS’ impact, influence, and profile at a global scale for animals, and will also support their colleagues to do the same
  • Leading on developing campaign strategies and formulating budgets to deliver exciting and innovative campaigns
  • Representing FOUR PAWS UK in media interviews and at external meetings, networking with key stakeholders
  • Leading and facilitating internal meetings, manage campaign spending and support the Head of Programmes with budget management and reforecasting
  • Monitoring relevant international and national animal welfare topics to stay on top of key welfare issues in the UK and globally in relation to our programmatic areas
  • Conducting in-depth research to support campaigns, public affairs, communications, and projects including feeding into Government consultations and calls for evidence and working closely with the Public Affairs lead and digital campaigning team to deliver lobbying and advocacy objectives of the UK campaigns
  • Organising and coordinate exciting external events and public engagement activities including demonstrations, public events/festivals, and conferences
  • Developing and project manage our campaigns, and coordinate the implementation and delivery of activities and objectives across multiple UK and International departments including communications, digital and fundraising
  • Developing strong internal working relationships across the global organisation and with external stakeholders, other NGOs, suppliers, or consultants
  • Leading the monitoring and evaluation of campaign activities and projects
  • Assisting the Head of Programmes with any other duties as required

 

Your profile ideally illustrates

  • An experienced campaigner – with a passion for creativity and campaigning in animal welfare, with an openness to new ideas
  • An effective change maker – who has worked with theories of change and seen a campaign through to its success
  • A strong communicator – who is fluent (written and oral) in English, with excellent writing, presentation and interpersonal skills and a confident public speaker, able to communicate with the media
  • An excellent project manager – with the skills and ability to work unsupervised within a small busy team and show leadership, prioritising competing demands, who also has strong IT skills and some knowledge of digital campaigning tools
  • A strategist – who knows how to develop strong and ambitious campaign strategy, oversee their implementation and using their own in-depth desk research, scientific data or commissioned work to formulate objective, well-reasoned arguments and messaging that supports objectives
  • A team player – who is enthusiastic, proactive and approachable, able to support their colleagues and be a role model for continuous improvement
  • Inquisitive and ambitious, with a desire to constantly learn and develop their campaigning expertise
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally to provide support or participate in FOUR PAWS UK’s activities as required
