
Disaster Preparedness and Resilience Programme Manager (m/f/d)

Your contribution will be
- Acting as a programme and project manager for Disaster Preparedness & Resilience
- Developing strategic communications for the disaster programme as well as a strategy for identifying and engaging local NGOs with the director, board and the coordinators
- Contributing to the organisational strategy for the disaster preparedness and resilience programme and regional projects
- Writing articles and papers about the topic of animals in disasters, disaster risk reduction and preparedness, and the importance of animals in disasters in relation to agenda 2030 and Sendai Framework
- Aligning legal and finance compliance for the project
- Developing indicators of impact based on the ToC and impact map
- Identifying campaigner for internal and external messaging for the organisation with the Director of other departments
- Supporting any administrative or operational requests or topics regarding legal, HR or finance
Your profile ideally illustrates
- Extensive understanding on the importance of animals in disaster, several years of relevant professional experience in developing and managing NGO programmes, UNDRR, in collaboration with cross organizational, international teams
- Educational background in International Management, Emergency Management or similar, vet degree is a plus
- Understanding of theory of change, lobbying at the UN level, campaigning, and advocacy
- Full proficiency in English is an imperative, additional languages (European or Asian) are always welcomed
- Relevant knowledge and experience on International Association of Emergency Management credentials and Sphere Humanitarian Credentials are not necessary but preferred
- Strong project and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task across different functions
- Ability to lead an international project including the ability to effectively explain complex concepts
- Must have relevant years of field experience to operationalise organisational goals from strategic documents
- Must be able and willing to travel on short notice when necessary to disaster areas
- Strong knowledge about one or more of these subjects: public safety, animals in disasters, public health, emergency management and humanitarian scope.
- Diplomatic skills to research, negotiate and develop projects with FOUR PAWS international strategic partners to achieve organisational goals
- Strong strategic mindset as well as campaigning and negotiation skills
- Great affinity to animal welfare and FOUR PAWS vision and mission

- If employed in Austria, a minimum gross salary of EUR 49, 000 per year (full-time base, consisting of 14 payments), negotiable depending on higher than required qualifications, skills and professional experience relevant for the position
