Orangutan Tegar at FOREST SCHOOL

Orangutans and Leaves

The primates of the forest love to cover their heads with leaves, but why?

Like humans and other great apes, orangutans are very intelligent! They use leaves to protect themselves from rain, mosquitos, wasps, and for shade from the sun.
Orangutans also use them as tools to get food, for comfort, or just to play and have fun!

Some of the orangutans at the FOREST SCHOOL in Borneo demonstrate perfectly how much they love to use and play with leaves.
